"Can I work an off-campus job while I am enrolled at school? Can I get an internship? What about volunteering? How does the new ‘unlawful presence’ policy and noncompliance impact us?"

LILAC & Pensby are bringing immigration attorney Feige Grundman on campus to discuss how to best pursue opportunities on an F-1 Visa, decipher the many complex regulations, and explain how noncompliance can impact international students.

As the daughter of an immigrant parent, Feige is acutely aware of how valuable and reassuring the guidance of a knowledgeable hand is in navigating this major life transition. In her practice, Feige has represented clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies with high volume employment-based immigration needs to self-petitioners seeking the most exclusive immigrant and non-immigrant classifications.

Taking a personalized approach to practicing the complex area of law, Feige aligns her client’s ultimate goals with a customized strategic solution informed by her nuanced understanding of U.S. immigration law. This knack for preparing successful, tailor-made petitions has led Feige to specialize in immigrant and non-immigrant applications based on a person’s contributions, including EB-1, O-1, and National Interest Waiver petitions.

Feige’s experience extends beyond these hyper-individualized petition types to nearly all corners of immigration practice. She has considerable experience advising clients on PERM applications and denials, strategies for employing foreign nationals, I-9 compliance, worksite enforcement, and E-Verify compliance. Audits are daunting tasks to confront and clients often rely on Feige’s guidance on performing self-audits and represents those facing large audits. She frequently represents companies before the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Labor, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Feige also prepares filings for individuals seeking to invest in the United States via various visa programs, and counsels those facing 221(g) issues at U.S. Consulates. She takes particular interest in working with companies in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and life sciences fields, enabling world-changing innovations by allowing her clients to hire the best talent regardless of national origin.
