Continuing Bryn Mawr College students are invited to apply for several on-campus summer Digital Curriculum internships. These internships will provide you with the opportunity to develop digital competencies, that is the skills and capacities needed to be leaders and innovators in digital fields. You will be assisting Bryn Mawr faculty and staff with digital course materials and curricular development. Summer digital interns will gain experience in areas such as project management and assessment, coding and web design, metadata management, audiovisual production, curricular design and working with clients.

The internships are an excellent opportunity for anyone considering a career in education, instructional design, library and information science, web design and production, or software development. We often hire digital curricular interns to continue work throughout the academic year. Interns will report to Jennifer Spohrer, director of Educational Technology Services (a part of Library and Information Technology Services) and are expected to work full-time in Canaday Library for 10 weeks primarily during normal college working hours (i.e., between 8am and 6pm). Interns will be paid biweekly at the regular summer rate (the summer rate for Summer 2017 was $10.75/hr). Interns are responsible for finding and paying for their own summer housing. For information about summer housing on campus, please visit the conferences and events website.

Requirements: • Continuing Bryn Mawr Students (i.e. Not graduating seniors) • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and technology skills • Ability to work well with others to complete projects • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Demonstrated interest, experience, or training at least one related technology area: web production, image editing (i.e. Photoshop or equivalent), video or audio production, screencasting, blogging, podcasting, data visualization and analysis, etc. • Eligible for on-campus summer employment

Audio-Video Production Internships

Continuing Bryn Mawr students are invited to apply for a summer A/V production position with Bryn Mawr College Library and Information Services. These internships will provide you with the opportunity to develop digital competencies, that is the skills and capacities needed to be leaders and innovators in digital fields.  Interns will be working with Educational Technology Services (ETS) and Bryn Mawr College faculty and staff to produce audio visual content and documentation for various projects around the College. Hired student interns will be responsible for editing, updating and captioning videos from the 2018 Blended Learning in the Liberal Arts Conference, creating promotional videos for other campus initiatives, and, with approval, a collaborative video production project of the interns’ design.

Hirees will be responsible for creating the Conference videos using screencast footage and captioning software.  Other projects may involve making new audio/video recordings and incorporating still images and other materials relevant to the subject matter. Prior experience with Adobe Premiere, Adobe Audition, Audacity, Screencast-O-Matic and other related tools is preferred. Hirees will work in Canaday and/or Carpenter Libraries.

Information Security Education Program Intern

Description: Continuing Bryn Mawr College students are invited to apply for the summer Information Security Education Program Intern position. This internship will provide you with the opportunity to develop digital competencies, that is the skills and capacities needed to be leaders and innovators in digital fields. You will be assisting Bryn Mawr staff with the creation of online learning solutions geared towards helping BMC students learn skills, knowledge, and attitudes to protect them and the College from information security threats. The intern will gain experience in areas such as instructional design, project management and assessment, graphic design, audiovisual production, user experience testing, learning management system administration and working with clients.

This internship is an excellent opportunity for anyone considering a career in education, instructional design, project management, software development or multimedia design. Interns will report to Andrew Mantuano, Outreach and Education Coordinator (Library and Information Technology Services) and are expected to work full-time in Canaday Library for 10 weeks primarily during normal college working hours (i.e., between 8am and 6pm). Interns will be paid biweekly at the regular summer rate (the summer rate for Summer 2017 was $10.75/hr). Interns are responsible for finding and paying for their own summer housing. Requirements: • Continuing Bryn Mawr Students (i.e. Not graduating seniors) • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and technology skills • Ability to work well with others to complete projects • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work independently and with little to no direct supervision • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (or equivalents) and standard web and mobile technologies • Demonstrated interest, experience, or training in 1 or more of the following areas: instructional design, information security, project management, graphic design, programming, video or audio production, etc. • Eligible for on-campus summer employment
